I'm just interested to see the results on this, but...

Other than parents and other family members, how many people have told somebody "I love you", because they meant it and not just because they wanted to get laid?

Personally, I've said it to 2 different girls, both of which ultimately didn't care in the end.

yes, I have, but I don't really very much anymore. People have a tendency to misunderstand the expression- they usually think that means you want to have a possessive co-dependent romantic relationship with them, which they are either freaked out by, or else they are really into, in which case I want to go running for the hills.

To me it's simply an expression that says you understand the commonality of your existence and you share that experience with another person.

Whatever qualities that are present in an individual relationship are distinct and have no bearing on that phenomenon.

I love YOU ChefChiTown and you are my first.

I say it to friends sometimes and said it to some ex-girlfriends a couple of times to close the deal but in the end they all think i meant it. Yeah i know its not cool to play with peoples emotions like that but its my dick talking.

I'm 22 i haven't been long enough with the same girl to know what love actually means.

I think that saying "I love you" not to get laid - is just a result of saying "I love you" to get laid, but saying it so many many times, that one day man who says it starts to believe in his own lie.

I've been through a lot of relationshits in my lifetime. There was only one where I thought about saying the L word to her, but I found out that she was cheating on me with her ex-boyfriend and obviously lost all feelings for her. I actually want to be able to say it, but I just haven't found that special someone yet

I tell my girl that I love her every day. Seriously. And the cool part? I really do. I mean I am head over heels, don't know if I am coming or going when I am with her in love with her. And I do not simply say "I love you" once. I tell her several times throughout the day, in two different languages even.

Fuck yeah I've said it. Damn proud of it.

First time I told a girl I loved her I didn't mean it. But it's ok, because I told her I didn't mean it. I just needed something to fill the gap everytime she said it to me. Saying "Thanks babe" just doesn't cut it.

My current girlfriend I probably say it to 20 times a day. I know one day I wont be able to, so I wanna get as much in while I have the chance.
